Hollywood is synonymous with movie making. When you think of Hollywood, you think of glamour and movie stars.  But it is really a factory town.  Even the movie stars are part of the process.  Nothing the least glamorous until you travel to Hollywood Blvd. or to Beverly Hills.

Nearly 100 studios can be traced to the 10 square mile area  known as Hollywood.  Most came and went very quickly, but many have endured, and nearly 20 still exist today, still the largest concentration of active, working studios anywhere on the globe.
